Haeusler Reunion, Sunday 7 March 2010March 07, 2010 On 7 March 2010, many descendants of Johann Friedrich August and Anna Rosina Haeusler gathered at Monivae College in Hamilton, Victoria, to celebrate the arrival in Australia of their ancestors in 1846. August was the second youngest of seven children of Wilhelm Heinrich Haeusler and Johanne Louise Knappe. In 1848 Johann Friedrich August Haeusler (born 1822 in Schoenfeld, Prussia) married Anna Rosina Hartwich (born c.1819 in Bentschen, Posen) at Bethany in S.A. There was a great deal of reminiscing, with descendants from all over Victoria renewing contact after many years. They enjoyed seeing historic family photographs and sharing amusing anecdotes. The day concluded with an excellent dinner, coupled with much nostalgia of yesteryear. We thank Morrie Haeusler for the above information. CLAY KRUGER |
